ADAC-Award Wining Cross-Country Skiing Region
It was not that one first started with the “soft gliding” in the Olympia region Seefled, when the cross-country skiing sport boomed under the catchphrase “Nordic Fitness”. Already at the times, when the slogan to this topic “Cross-country skiers live longer” occurred to all advertising specialists, there was an elaborated infrastructure in Seefeld and numerous concrete offers for this sport. And the choices were and are constantly increasing. Who would prefer to have a lazy day during the day, can also glide over fresh cross-country ski-tracks: five times a week a round of about 2,5 km around Seekirchl ("Lake Chapel") is floodlit until 22:00. And certainly cross-country skiing trails are covered with artificial snow, in case “Mother Hulda” doesn’t do her job well and it doesn’t snow.
So no wonder, that the region was given the first place in the category Nordic/Cross-Country Skiing by ADAC (German automobile club). The region offers over 262 kilometers of best prepared trails for classic skiers and skating specialists correspondingly. On one part of the trails classic skiers can also vie with skaters – the width of 6 meters provides for ample space for both running styles.
